Foreign Office strongly condemns use of Afghan territory for terrorism in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has strongly condemned the use of Afghan territory for terrorism in Pakistan.

A statement issued by Foreign Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that the use of Afghan soil for terrorist activities in Pakistan was highly reprehensible. Referring to the incident that took place yesterday, he said that terrorists in Afghanistan from Mehmand district of Afghanistan attacked the check post.

The Foreign Office said that the attack across the international border was met with a full response from Pakistani security forces. There was an exchange of fire with the terrorists in which Fazal Wahid, a young man of the Frontier Corps, was martyred.

Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry called on the Afghan government to take immediate action against terrorists who are involved in operations against the Pakistani army.

It may be recalled that terrorists from Afghanistan attacked the FC check post in charge of homeland security and martyred a young man on duty there. According to the Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), FC troops responded effectively to the terrorists’ firing. However, soldier Fazal Wahid was martyred in the exchange of fire.

It should be noted that terrorists in Afghanistan are targeting Pakistani soldiers every day. Pakistan has strongly protested the incidents and called on Afghan authorities to crack down on terrorists. On October 14, an incident took place on the Pak-Afghan border in which a Pak Army soldier was martyred.
