KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the squad for the Test series against South Africa. It has also been decided to give a chance to new players for the Test series against South Africa.
According to details, while giving a news conference in Karachi, Chief Selector PCB Muhammad Waseem said that Babar Azam will lead the national team in the home series against South Africa. Muhammad Rizwan, Abid Ali, Imran Butt, Azhar Ali and Fawad Alam have been included in the Test squad. Former captain of the national cricket team and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed has also been included in the Test squad against South Africa.
Besides, Yasir Shah, Abdullah Shafiq, Aghasman, Saud Shakeel, Hassan Ali, Kamran Ghulam, Sajid Khan, Haris Rauf, Muhammad Nawaz, Noman Ali, Fahim Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi and Tabish Khan have been included in the Test squad.

Speaking at a news conference in Karachi, chief selector Muhammad Waseem said that Zafar Gohar, Shaun Masood, Muhammad Abbas, Imam-ul-Haq, Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah have been dropped for the Test series against South Africa.
Mohammad Waseem said that under-pressure performance and match-winning performance were also reviewed for finalizing the Test squad against South Africa. Mohammad Abbas was not included in the squad on the basis of performance. Imam-ul-Haq also performed. Not included in the squad on the grounds, Hassan Ali backed down despite an injury in the domestic and also improved his batting.
Referring to Saud Shakeel, the chief selector said that Saud Shakeel’s performance is improving day by day while Agha Salman’s performance was good this year as well as last year. Agha Salman also bowls and also tests against South Africa. Noman Ali, who has been included in the squad, has match winning ability.
